Alteri acquires Brantano (UK) and Jones Bootmaker

London, 28th October 2015 – Alteri Investors (“Alteri”), the specialist European retail investor, today announces that it has acquired the activities of Macintosh Fashion UK (Brantano and Jones Bootmaker) from Macintosh Retail Group with effect from 27 October 2015.

Macintosh Fashion UK is a leading footwear company with comprehensive coverage of the UK footwear market through its formats Brantano and Jones Bootmaker, as well as via its multi-channel platforms. 

Brantano is the UK’s largest out-of-town value for money footwear retailer for families, with a broad range of own label and  leading brands. It  has 140 stores and 61 concessions spread across the UK.

With 110 stores in prime locations in cities and shopping centres throughout the UK and 13 concessions, Jones Bootmaker has grown over 150 years to become a prominent footwear retailer with an excellent reputation. In addition to its own distinctive private label collections, Jones also stocks renowned brands.

Full terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

In addition to the acquisition of Macintosh Fashion UK, Alteri’s other transactions to date include: 

-       Acquisition of Versandhaus Walz, a leading multi-channel and multi-brand retailer based in Germany,

-       Provision of a 3 year secured term loan to UK based menswear and womenswear retailer Austin Reed Group

-       Provision of a working capital facility to German fashion group Basler, as part of its acquisition by Tempus Capital.
